Barbara Rodriguez, MA, LPC-Associate, LCDC, supervised by Hope Brown, MA, LPC-S
Barbara has a Master of Arts in Professional Counseling from Concordia University. Before her career in counseling, Barbara served three years in the Army, raised a family, and worked as a substitute teacher while earning her Bachelor of Science Degree in Paralegal Studies from Southern Illinois University. After losing her young, adult daughter, Barbara went back to school to become a dual licensed clinician as an LPC-Associate and a Licensed Chemical Dependency Counselor. Barbara worked for over seven years at a highly respected treatment center and was trained at the Townsend Institute, learning directly from Dr. John Townsend, the co-author of the Boundaries book series. Barbara uses a multidimensional approach using Client-Centered Therapy, Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), and Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), to name a few. Barbara’s goal as a therapist is to walk beside each client, using a holistic, team approach to achieve mental wellness. She believes that by working as a team, the therapist and the client can create the best possible treatment plan, utilizing the client’s strengths while working on areas for growth.
